Brewery road trip part 2
What else do you do on a Sunday in October but hit up a couple breweries? The adventure took us to Berkley Brewing in Taunton https://www.berkleybeer.com. We had been here before, so knew it was good. We had to get them off our list again on the Mass Brewers Guild App. Damn expiring stamps. Anyway, it gave us an excuse to have some great beer and pizza. After last weekend where we were denied entry due to no reservations, I called them up before we left the house to get on the waitlist. The guy said not to worry that there was only one other couple there. I told him we were 45 min away and he said it was fine. The parking lot was fairly full when we got there around 1pm. When we entered they took our contact info, took our temperature, and checked our IDs. I feel so young these days going to breweries lol. Once I thanked the guy and he said, “oh we check everyone.” lol, thanks a lot buddy. Anyway, I digress. We were able to choose inside or outside seating. I chose inside since it was a little chilly and it didn’t look like their heaters were on outside. Since there weren’t flights available, dh got the pale ale and the IPA. He liked them both though his favorite overall of our trip was their IPA. I had their golden ale which I also thought was good. We got a pepperoni pizza for lunch. They have a pretty big menu though it’s mostly pizza. It was just perfect for the two of us. The tables were very spread out and the staff was friendly. If we are in the area again, we’ll definitely be back.
After leaving Berkley we drove to Canned Heat in Fall River. This was a new to us brewery. I asked the bartender if they opened recently. He said they’ve been open for two years. We were asked for our contact info and were carded at the door. I didn’t say thank you this time. Learned my lesson on that one. haha. It was pretty cool inside, a huge open space with high ceilings. They had an outside area as well but we didn’t go outside. The bathrooms were very clean. We sat at a table close to the bar. I got their stout. Dh got an IPA and their pale ale. He liked them both. After leaving here we did a quick check in at Troy City Brewing around the corner, also in Fall River. We had been there before and it’s worth stop. Not sure where our next trip will be. Every trip is about an hour away at this point. Good thing we like beer.
