Wachusett brewyard Worcester
On a Sunday in January dh and I got in the car to cross some more breweries off our list. We stopped in at Owen O’Leary’s in Westborough. There were only a couple cars in the parking lot at about 12:30 in the afternoon. We walked in and it was very dark inside with a bit of an old smell. We waited a few minutes at the hostess stand. No one came over so we left. Back on the road to Worcester. We drove over to Wachusett Brew Yard. https://www.wachusettbrewingcompany.com/ Parking isn’t the best in the area. There wasn’t any parking on the street so we went around the rotary a few times and ended up parking across the street at a gas station. There were no tow away signs, so we figured it’d be okay. I was relieved my car was still there when we finished up at the brewery. There is a sign as you enter the brewery that says to seat yourself. We were going to do so but a server came over and said they might be at capacity so told us to wait a minute. He was so nice. He ended up giving us a picnic table which had been closed up. They give you a card which has a QR code to scan. When you’re ready to order, you text the number on the card. They serve pretzels but there’s an open food court attached to the brewery where you can get food and bring it over. We decided to get a pretzel as we weren’t super hungry. It was good. For beers, I had a beaver moon (lol). It was delicious. It’s a orange wheat beer, but very light. Dh got the Bo Knows Hops which he really liked as well. Then he got a Mass Soul (funny names huh?). Both were IPAs, both very good. We would’ve got cans to go but they only do growlers. Service was super quick and they had a good sense of humor. When I texted our original order they responded with a gif that said “be right over” with a dog on top of a turtle. If I were in the area again I’d definitely go back. I highly recommend this spot.
