The Voyage
On a summer evening when we were exhausted, before our kitchen reno was complete, we decided to try a place right around the corner from our house, The Voyage. https://thevoyagehumarock.com It’s a small Irish restaurant in Humarock. It’s right over the bridge as you go through Marshfield to get to Scituate. Yup, my husband is salty about how we can’t get a beach sticker for Humarock. Even though we can’t use the beach during the day, we like to walk our dogs there after hours. But, I digress.
We walked in the restaurant and were lucky to get a couple seats at the bar. The restaurant is about half bar and half tables. They have live music on certain nights of the week. The bar staff was kind of indifferent. A woman took our drink orders after we sat for a bit. She seemed busy but it didn’t look very busy. I got a guinness. I wasn’t super hungry so for dinner I ordered a cup of chowder and a caesar salad. Dh got the fish tacos. I thought it was okay, but not the best. I am super picky about clam chowder. I actually grew up eating the Kettle creations that you heat up in a bag. I just can’t get behind real homemade chowder. I know, I know. For the fish there were 3 tacos with minimal toppings and a tiny bit of sauce. They were kind of bland. They came with french fries. We’d go back to try something else since it’s so close to home, but I’m not sure when.
