Sorelle
It was girls’ night in October. Well deserved since my sister in laws all have kids who were doing hybrid learning. They deserve all the drinks. We made a reservation for 7:45 outside at Sorelle on a Saturday night. http://www.sorelleabington.com It’s on route 18 in Abington. First off, the parking lot is an absolute nightmare. It looked like they were doing some road work and it definitely needed to be repaved. I first turned in and went to the left. There’s no exit that way and no where to turn around. Since there were no spots, I had to back out of a long line of cars on both sides. And it was very dark. I can’t imagine how many accidents must occur there. Then I went to the right and had to do a couple swings around the lot as it was totally packed. Finally found a spot to park and then waited for my sister in laws to park. We walked in at exactly our reservation time. They have a big tent with lots of heaters. Even though it was in the 50’s outside, it was very comfortable.
I have to say the service was spectacular. Our waitress was very friendly and on point. We got fresh bread with dipping oil, all our plates and silverware and she took our drink orders. We ended up ordering the red sangria, pumpkin martini and an apple cranberry martini. Once we got our drinks we put in our app order. We got the fried calamari and the roasted brussel sprouts. I thought both were fine, nothing special. I like my calamari with marinara. This one comes with a sweet chili sauce over it. The sprouts were slightly bitter to me but it’s not something I normally eat. She brought us more bread as well.
For entrees we got 2 pizzas, the pork chop, the chicken parm and the bolognese. Everyone enjoyed their dinners and ate it all. I personally had the bolognese. Again, it was good, but nothing special. And it was $26. One sister in law got the pistachio cheesecake for dessert which I think they’re known for and said it was good. Our waitress ended up splitting the bill for us which was so nice. We didn’t even ask her to. My portion ended up being $45 before tip. I would go back another time when it’s less busy to try something else but I don’t think it’s worth the current hype.
