Lucky Pelican
Dh and I have been to the Lucky Pelican https://luckypelicanbistro.com/ quite a few times now. It’s probably our favorite spot in Lakewood Ranch. We always prefer to sit at the bar. Their bar is pretty small, I think about 8 seats. They are usually pretty busy so we tend to go later on a Friday night around 7:30 or so. The first time we went, I got the blackened shrimp tacos which came with a choice of side. I got fries. Dh got the blacked mahi with roasted potatoes and mixed veggies. There was a red pepper sauce that they put in a cup on the side. Both meals were delicious. The shrimp were large, three in each taco. They had a good kick to them. The 2 tacos were stuffed and more than enough for me. I couldn’t even eat both. I ended up just eating the shrimp out of the second one. You can also add avocado for $2 so I did that. Dh got a manhattan for dessert. Total bill was around $75 thanks to Joe flation. Since our first visit was so long ago at this point, I put in some pictures from another visit. This is the fried flounder and I think the other pic is the shrimp tacos. I tend to get the same thing each time, but have tried some different dishes. On our last visit I got a Greek salad and the octopus special they had. Service is always good and I like the low key feel to the place. It’s not pretentious at all. The food is always solid though it is on the pricey side. I highly recommend this place.
